PlayStation Plus Marks 15th Anniversary with a Bold August Game Lineup
Sony is turning up the heat for PlayStation Plus subscribers this August. Kicking off the 15th anniversary of the service, all members—from Essential to Premium—are getting three diverse and high-profile titles: Lies of P, DayZ, and My Hero One’s Justice 2. This lineup goes live on August 5, running through September 1, with some special touches just for the occasion.
Lies of P is the star attraction for many, especially those who can’t get enough of brutal, Soulslike action. Inspired by the classic Pinocchio tale but set in a dark, twisted Belle Époque city, the game throws players into tough, unforgiving battles and a world jammed with puppets gone rogue. This isn’t your children’s fairy tale. Both PS4 and PS5 owners can download and play it, but the next-gen experience shines brightest on PS5, with richer visuals and faster load times.
Meanwhile, DayZ brings a very different flavor. First launched on PC and then carving out a dedicated following on consoles, this open-world survival game dumps you and hundreds of others into a post-apocalyptic landscape. Zombies lurch around every corner, but often it’s the other players who are the real threat. With limited resources, permadeath always looming, and no shortage of tension, surviving in DayZ is as much about reading other people as it is about dodging undead.
If you want straight-up, no-nonsense arena fighting—especially if you’re an anime fan—My Hero One’s Justice 2 is worth a shot. Based on the hugely popular My Hero Academia franchise, it lets you pick from a roster of heroes and villains, each with their own wild quirks. Battles are flashy, fast, and true to the spirit of the show, letting players recreate epic clashes or try out their dream matchups. It runs on PS4 but works on PS5, too, thanks to backward compatibility.

All three games don’t just hit different genres—they also hit big fan bases. Action RPG enthusiasts, survival gamers, and anime fighters all have something to sink their teeth into this August.
